Once a year children and their families create imaginatively designed lanterns in all shapes and sizes which they then proudly carry through the town. They come from the four sides of Ulverston where they meet at the Coronation Hall and then march to the sound of bands and drums to Ford Park .
The climax of the festivities are the fireworks and bonfires. The whole event “takes your breath away.”
